Vicke Lindstrand Blue Art Glass Dish for Kosta Boda
1960's glass dish with blue controlled bubble footed base by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta Boda.
Such a fluid clear glass elliptical shape, grounded by the vibrant blue base with its controlled air bubbles. This was expertly hand blown by Victor Emanuel Lindstrand (known as Vicke) who joined Kosta Glasbruk (later Kosta Boda) in 1950. Lindstrand also designed ceramics and textiles but is regarded as a leading figure in glassmaking; known to have invented the Arial technique, where a coloured layer of glass is placed within clear glass.
This is a highly collectible piece of Mid Century art glass by one of the 20th Century's leading glass pioneers.
