1970's Scandinavian ceramic vase. Glazed by Noomi Backhausen with form by Poul Brandborg for Søholm Stentøj, Denmark.
A beautifully hand crafted Mid Century stoneware vase in earthy tones of brown and cream with subtle green hues. The bold, abstract style and rustic qualities are very typical of this era but this is a unique piece directly hand painted by Backhausen and no two designs will be identical.
This impressive vase is part of the Erika series for Søholm on Denmark's island of Bornholm, a place that was and is at the heart of Danish ceramic excellence.
