Late 1950's Mid Century Modern Stag S Range S230 Dining Chairs.

An elegant, simple, iconic chair design typical of the new design trends of the sixties which tried to redefine both function and form. The metal framed dining chair has a beautifully contoured tactile African Walnut seatback and a slender curved seat pad upholstered in full grain black leather.

With swivel feet specifically designed by John and Sylvia Reid for stability, the chairs have a brushed satin nickel metalwork finish in keeping with the other items in the range.

Details: It is difficult to imagine that these modern and stylish chairs were designed  60 years ago. The designers, John and Sylvia Reid, were employed by Stag Furniture from 1952 and this delightful piece was part of their pioneering Stag S Range of dining room furniture. This 2018 reissue of the Stag S range was beautifully reproduced to exacting standards by Nicholas Radford of Nathan Furniture and Dominic Reid, son of John and Sylvia. The iconic range was originally launched by Stag furniture in 1960 and was heralded by Design Magazine as one of the "outstanding furniture ranges of the year". 

This exquisite furniture needs to be seen together to be truly appreciated for the quality of design, manufacture and materials that is second to none!
