Quadrille Screenprint by Roger Limbrick for Hull Traders.
Roger Limbrick was a peer of Shirley Craven's (Hull Traders) at the Royal College of Art and they maintained a relationship of mutual admiration for many years after. He designed five patterns for Hull Traders, including this impactful design.
Limbrick loved to explore new methods and materials in his designs. His Quadrille design is no exception, with its bold use of shape and colour and playful optical art experimentation. Notice how the shapes and black lines narrow and widen across the canvas.
A stunning piece of Mid Century textile design that is very well suited to being framed in this fashion as you get a real sense of Limbrick's artistry.
This would add drama to any home interior, with its bold geometric design and use of colour. A collectable design that's not only fabulous to look at, it's a real investment for lovers of 20th Century designers.
