Pressed glass jardiniere by Frantisek Vizner for Hermanova , model 20121, rare protoype
This is an exceptionally rare, collectors piece designed by Frantisek Vizner in 1966 for the Expo 1967 in Montreal. Consequently, a few pieces of this design were produced, mainly for private clients. It is highly unusual to find on the open market.
It was produced by the Heřmanova glass factory and would have been one of the later pressed glass pieces designed by Vizner. In the late 60s Vizner devoted himself mainly to blown and vut glass.
One of the 20th century's most prominent glass designers, Vizner excelled in geomatric, balanced form.
This piece has been authenticated by the Frantisek Vizner Archive.
