This beautifully designed longjohn sideboard is by Greaves and Thomas of London.  It comprises of a double cupboard with internal shelf, three spacious drawers with dividers in the top drawer and a pull-down bar cabinet with an internal smoked glass shelf.

The original high gloss finish has been stripped and sanded back to reveal a beautifully rich Teak and Rosewood veneer, then finished in matt-satin lacquer for a naturally soft sheen.

A showstopper of a sideboard that just exudes style and elegance with its simple lines, functionality and stunning rosewood circular moulded handles and leg frame.  

The Greaves and Thomas label can be found on the inside cupboard door and makers mark is imprinted in the middle drawer

Established in the early 1900s, Greaves and Thomas was a longstanding maker of high end furniture.

From the 1950s, it firmly established itself in the British mid century furniture manufacturing elite through its focus on contemporary, Scandinanvian influenced design and build.   In the late 1960s it was bought out by Schreiber as part of its plan to reach an audience for higher quality furniture.

Condition: Excellent restored condition. Professionally stripped, sanded with a satin lacquer finish applied. May have slight age related marks which do not detract from the overall appearance.
