1950s Walnut and Beech Bedside cabinet with drawer by CWS, art deco/mid century style

A warm and elegant walnut and beech bedside cabinet by CWS (Co-operative Wholesale Services).

CWS started life in the 1890s as a small cabinet-making company producing from Birmingham and later, from London.

This cabinet's striking feature is the fiery walnut grain, guaranteed to add a touch of glamour to your bedroom. This contrasts beautifully with the beech frame. The pull handles are floral shaped in brass and rose gold effect.  The burl walnut and curved contour lends a dash of Art Deco style while the simple form leans toward mid-century design style that was beginning to sweep the nation in the 1950s,

The cabinet comprises of an upper drawer and lower cupboard, the perfect storage space for your bedside. 

The original finish has been stripped and sanded with a satin lacquer finish applied to add a subtle sheen.
